My Top 10 Holiday Gift Ideas for 2023
My favorite holiday candle, coffee table book, jewelry, pajamas, sweet treats and more!
The Christmas countdown is on!
’Tis the season to procrastinate buying holiday gifts.
Speaking for myself here.
Last-minute, down-to-the-wire holiday shopping can be fun.
Just don’t freak out.
In the event that you are freaking out, I’m here to help.
Here you go —
My Top Ten Holiday Gift Ideas For 2023:
1. FLAMINGO ESTATE THE CHEF’S KISS, $106. — If you’re not familiar with Flamingo Estate, you should be. I recently received The Chef’s Kiss box as a gift from my friend, June Ambrose, and I am obsessed. This special box includes Biointensive Native Wildflower Honey, Heritage Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a small jar of Salsa Macha, a totally addictive chili oil that you can drizzle over just about anything.
2. NEST HOLIDAY 3-WICK CANDLE, $80. — If you’re looking for Christmas in a candle, well, this is it. This large Nest holiday candle smells amazing and is beautiful, too. By the way, if you live in New York and want to get a whiff of this scent, just head to Fifth Avenue. Nest “scented” trees all along the shopping district in the 50s. It’s so festive, worth a trip.
3. SIDNEY GARBER TALL SCRIBBLE RING, $19,600. — Ok, I’m aware — this gift isn’t for everyone. It’s for a precious few. But if you were to ask me what ring I’ve long had on my wish list, it’s the Sidney Garber Tall Scribble Ring in white gold. I’ve been lucky enough to borrow this bauble many times. And one day — one day — I’ll have it in my jewelry box.
4. HAMPTON POPCORN 3-FLAVOR POPCORN TIN, $79.99 — If you’re a good friend and/or colleague, it’s possible I’ve already sent you the Hampton Popcorn 3-Flavor Tin. I order the largest size — 6.5 gallons — because, well, I want you to really enjoy it. This tin includes Butter, Caramel and Orange Cheddar Popcorn. Everyone has their favorite. Mine is Orange Cheddar.
5. BEHIND THE BLUE DOOR, $65. — A beautiful coffee table book is always a great gift and this one is my pick for 2023. I’m biased, I wrote it. Behind the Blue Door, photographed by Douglas Friedman, is about the explosion of color, pattern and art inside the six-story townhouse of legendary beauty executive, John Demsey. Maximalism at its best. Get ready to be inspired.
6. POLOGEORGIS KNIT MINK FUR HAT, $300. — In the winter, I never leave the house without this hat. It’s warm and comfy and chic. What more could you want? Comes in nine colors. I buy this for my girlfriends.
7. CIRCE BLACK BELT WITH BLACK BUCKLE, $450. — I was recently at a birthday party and ran into my friend, Katie Zorn, who was wearing the chicest black belt. As it turns out, she designed it! Luxe stocking stuffer.
8. HANRO MOMENTS CROP PAJAMA SET, $230. — My mother turned me on to Hanro pajamas, believe it or not. Hanro uses the softest cotton, trust me on this. I love this particular set with cropped pants. Your mom will love it. So will you.
9. THE COLLECTION NEW YORK DIAMOND STACKABLE BANGLE, $2900. — Looking for a little sparkle for your wrist? These stackable diamond bangles from The Collection New York are it. Key word: stackable. Available in white, yellow, rose, and black gold. Did someone say one in each color?
10. ALEJANDRA ALONSO ROJAS ALINA DRESS, $2195. — I’m not a big New Year’s person, but if you’re going out and want to make an entrance, you can’t do better than this dress. Consider it a gift to yourself. I wore this dress to a dinner I hosted during New York Fashion Week and the designer, my friend Alejandra Alonso Rojas, told me she loved it on me so much, she wanted to rename the dress after me. Imagine that? The Alina Dress.
