The Top 10 Items I’ll Be Wearing on Repeat This Fall
From the best dress and jeans to the most comfortable boots to the perfect tank top, this list has it all!
Thank you for reading Cho & Tell! This publication is funded entirely by you—the reader. I hope you’ll consider becoming a paid subscriber today to support my work and join our community.
If you follow me on Instagram—and I hope you do—then you may know that I just got back from a trip to southern France and Italy.
My dear friends, Harry and Laura Slatkin, invited me on their boat and, well, that was an offer I simply could not refuse.
What a week it was!
It was 80 degrees and gorgeous.
Well, guess what?
I’m back and there’s a chill in the air… we’re in sweater weather.
And that got me thinking about my wardrobe.
Now, I know that not everyone can afford these things… so this list is meant to be used as inspiration.
That said…
What am I wearing in the coming months?
Here you go—in no particular order…
THE TOP 10 THINGS I’LL BE WEARING ON REPEAT THIS FALL:
1.) MAISON MAYLE CARLYNE SKIRT, $505. — Anyone who really knows me knows that I am not a denim person. But I am a big fan of Maison Mayle. Fell in love with this denim skirt and had to have it. Bonus points to anyone who remembers when Jane Mayle had a store on Elizabeth Street. I used to go every weekend.
2.) KHAITE LUCY CULOTTES, $460. — I know I just said I’m not a denim person, but this is an unusual year. I actually found two denim items I love, including these culottes by Khaite. They’re jeans, but they’re not. And I love that they’re black. Super chic with a fitted turtleneck and knee-high black boots.
3.) GABRIELA HEARST SEYMORE DRESS, $1450. — If you’re looking for a versatile and flattering dress, this is it. I wear a lot of Gabriela Hearst for TV because her clothes are cut so well and they’re timeless. This particular dress comes in red, ivory, grey, black, navy, marigold, dusty pink (for SS24) and chocolate brown, the color of the season.
4.) LERET LERET CARDIGAN SWEATER, $650. — If you’re not familiar with Leret Leret, you should be. Alexandra Leret started the brand because she wanted to focus on perfecting one item and one item only — the sweater. Leret Leret recently launched cardigans and Alexandra was nice enough to send me two! The cardi comes in four styles — my favorite is No. 44.
5.) ALTUZARRA LYDIA DRESS, $1195. — Ever find a dress you love so much, you buy it in several colors? The Altuzarra Lydia Dress is that dress. I own this dress in white, black and blue and white striped. Easy to wear, chic, and — worn off the shoulder — a little sexy, too.
6.) ALEJANDRA ALONSO ROJAS SILK SATIN TANK GOWN, $2195. — If you’re longtime reader of Cho & Tell, then you already know that Alejandra Alonso Rojas is one of my favorite designers. She’s one of the sweetest, too. This red gown caught my eye right away. Love the fit… and the color. Alejandra shortened mine to cocktail length, but it’s equally ravishing as a gown!
7.) RE/DONE RIBBED COTTON-JERSEY TANK, $95. — Ever notice that it’s really, really hard to find a good tank top? Well, the perfect tank has finally arrived. It’s this one by RE/DONE and it comes in black and white. Get them both. Perfect under a chunky cardigan and pair it with… ahem… jeans.
8.) GABRIELA HEARST RIO BOOT, $1190. — I love, love, love these boots by Gabriela Hearst. They’re technically ankle boots, but they come up high enough that you can wear them with a dress, and it looks like you’re wearing a boot to the knee. I also love the versatility of them… you can dress them up… or down.
9.) ORGANIC BY JOHN PATRICK BANDANA CARDIGAN, $495. — I actually bought this cardigan in grey in the height of summer because I knew I’d wear it a lot come fall. And guess what? I’m wearing it as I write this. This fabulous piece now comes in navy, and I’m tempted to buy that one, too!
10.) ALAÏA X SUPERGA CANVAS PLATFORM SNEAKERS, $510. — I told you I’m typically not a denim person. Well, I’m normally not a sneaker person, either. But I love these Alaïa x Superga sneakers because they’re plain white, have a platform, and are super comfortable. So, watch out — this season you’ll be seeing a new me — in jeans and sneakers!
