Summer is totally my jam.
But I do love it when there’s a little chill in the air and I can start wearing my fall clothes.
I mean, what’s better than putting on a great sweater, a chic coat and some brand-new suede boots?
But you know me — or at least some of you do.
I love a dress.
Zip and go.
Nothing better.
A dress girl… through and through.
So, I’m always in search of the perfect dress.
Fall is no exception.

MY TOP 10 LUXURY FALL DRESSES I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT FOR FALL 2022:
1. Gabriela Hearst Amor Dress, $1550. — I’ve been wanting this cashmere dress for quite some time now, and I finally bought it (in black) just before New York Fashion Week. I’ll be wearing this dress all fall. Available in Heather Grey, Ivory, Oatmeal and Red Clay. Sorry, girls, the Black is sold out.

2. Alejandra Alonso Rojas Sleeveless Dip-Dyed Silk Midi Dress, $1095. — If you’re an avid reader of Cho & Tell (and I hope you are!), then you may have caught my recent profile of Alejandra Alonso Rojas. I love her “casual luxury” take on design and this slip dress is a perfect example of that. Sexy, too.

3. Organic by John Patrick Alina Dress, $595. — Give me a dress list and I’ll give you the Alina dress. If you’ve read my previous Top 10 Dresses lists, then you know that I’ve included this one before. I'm partial. It’s a great dress and it’s named after me!

4. Ulla Johnson Alma Dress, $745. — I know I’m not alone when I say I love just about everything Ulla Johnson makes. This dress is cut so well — it fits like a glove. Wear a chunky cardigan on top and head for dinner. Comes in Anemone (rust) and Odessa (navy).

5. Carolina Herrera Pleated Ruffled-Side Midi-Dress, $2990. — I know, this one is really expensive. But once you get over the sticker shock, look at the dress. It’s the perfect party dress. Will take you from now through the holidays. Comes in Poppy and Black. My vote is Poppy.

6. Dries Van Noten Gathered Floral-Print Cloqué Turtleneck Midi Dress, $2080. — While we’re on the subject of sticker shock, well, I give you this — what I think is the best floral dress of the season. The entire Dries Van Noten collection for Fall 2022 is outstanding and this dress is my very favorite.

7. Isabel Marant Albini Ruched Floral-Print Silk Crepe de Chine Midi Dress, $1490. — If I’m being honest, I should tell you — come fall — I almost always buy at least one Isabel Marant dress. Usually, one that’s cut like this. The fit is amazing, and the dresses are memorable, but not so memorable that you can’t wear them over and over again. Which is what I do.

8. Mônot Strapless Crepe Gown, $1555. — If you have the body to pull this off, you won’t find a sexier black gown this season than this one by Mônot — a relatively-new brand that celebrities, like J.Lo, love. I’m totally taken by the asymmetrical strapless top and signature high slit.

9. Nili Lotan Jasper Dress, $595. — If you’re in the market for an easy breezy weekend dress, this denim number by Nili Lotan is kinda perfect. Wear it to Sunday brunch. There’s no belt so you can eat freely.

10. Rosetta Getty Cutout Organic Cotton-Jersey Midi Dress, $675. — You didn’t think I’d compile a dress list without giving you a great LBD, did you? I love how this one has a cutout and sleeves — kind-of genius. Wear it with a great boot and some fabulous earrings and you’re done.
