Top 5 Lobster Rolls in the Hamptons
Duryea’s, Bostwick’s and Clam Bar made the list… so did one seafood shop in Amagansett…
This summer has been out-of-control crazy busy, hasn’t it?
Who’s with me on this?
After two years of COVID lockdowns, everyone — and I mean everyone — is ready to party.
I’m not complaining… I’m just saying… it’s been a little nuts.
But when I do take a break and chill out, I get… a lobster roll.
You heard me.
Lobster roll season is short — three months — so what are you waiting for?
As we count down to the end of summer… (insert sad face emoji) … head to the Hamptons and get yourself one of these:
TOP 5 LOBSTER ROLLS IN THE HAMPTONS:
1. BOSTWICK’S CHOWDER HOUSE: The lobster roll at Bostwick’s is — hands down — the very best the Hamptons has to offer. Not too much mayo, nor too little — it’s the Goldilocks of lobster rolls. The fries are epic, too. You can diet after Labor Day.

2. DURYEA’S MONTAUK: If I’m being honest, the very best thing about Duryea’s is the view. It’s the one place in the Hamptons that feels like the south of France. That being said, you won’t get a more just-out-of-the-sea lobster roll than you will here. The Duryea’s lobster roll comes with a side of homemade sweet potato chips — almost as a good as the fries.

3. CLAM BAR: This roadside joint is one of my favorites. Some people complain that there’s too much mayonnaise and celery in the lobster roll here, but I still love it. Don’t miss the clam chowder, either. I know what you’re thinking — hot soup is the last thing you want to eat when it’s 80 degrees outside, but trust me, it’s worth it.

4. THE LOBSTER ROLL AKA LUNCH: Honestly, I haven’t been to The Lobster Roll since they shot HBO’s The Affair here — too many tourists. But the lobster roll is amazing. The Lobster Roll recently opened a second location in Southampton (in the old Princess Diner space), but there’s nothing like going to the original.

5. AMAGANSETT SEAFOOD STORE: Want to eat a lobster roll in the comfort of your own home? Head to Mike’s Seafood in Amagansett (I know that’s not the official name, but that’s what everyone calls it). Buy a pound — or more — of the lobster salad. Head next door to IGA and pick up some Martin’s long potato rolls and assemble. You won’t be disappointed.
